Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Front-End Developer with expertise in React.js, PouchDB, CouchDB, and a strong understanding of building offline-capable web applications. The ideal candidate should be passionate about creating responsive and scalable user interfaces, with experience in integrating React applications with PouchDB and CouchDB for offline functionality.

This job is a full-time remote opportunity that can be worked anywhere within the US.

The successful candidate will be experienced and excited to work in an Agile environment and will have experience developing frontend and backend. Our team develops or modernizes applications that run in the commercial clouds and the candidate should have familiarity developing applications that use virtualization, containers, and cloud services with a focus on platforms such as Reactjs/Nodejs, Open Source, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, debug, document, and test software applications as part of an Agile development team.
  • Develop and maintain modern web applications using React.js, ensuring high performance, responsiveness, and a seamless user experience.
  • Implement offline capabilities using PouchDB and CouchDB, allowing users to interact with the application even in low or no connectivity scenarios.
  • Collaborate with back-end developers to design and integrate PouchDB and CouchDB for data storage and synchronization in offline-first applications.
  • Optimize application performance and troubleshoot issues related to data synchronization, offline storage, and overall user experience.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends in front-end development, React.js, PouchDB, CouchDB, and best practices for building offline web applications.
  • Work with the business analysts to understand the requirements documented as user stories.
  • Work with the testers and subject matter experts to verify functionality against the documented test cases.
  • Work with the cybersecurity engineers to identify and remediate any security issues with the code.
  • Work as a team to provide DevSecOps support for our products.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field with a minimum nine of relevant software development experience. Master's degree in computer science or related field with a minimum three years of relevant software development experience.
  • Familiarity with Agile Software Development lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of software design and implementation.
  • Knowledge of relational database and NoSQL Document database principles and/or experience in database design, ability to create simple and complex queries.
  • Ability to explain complex technical terms and systems to others.
  • Participate in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement in process and standards for the entire team.
  • Ability to learn new applications quickly.
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving abilities and a strong work ethic with a “can do” attitude.
  • Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3.
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript and ES6+.
  • Experience with state management libraries (e.g., Redux) and asynchronous programming.
  • Ability to thrive in a team/collaborative environment.
  • Ability to function at a fast pace with multiple deadlines.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply software support and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, verbal communication, and written communication skills.

Required Skills:

  • Experience with Java.
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks/libraries (Angular, React, Vue, etc.).
