Job Description and Duties

The Senior Brand Inspector must have the ability to read and write English at a level required for successful job performance.

• Collaborate with the APS I to organize, plan, direct, supervise and monitor brand inspection.

• Coordinate program activities and act as liaison with industry, law enforcement, and court personnel.

• Review work reports and provides training to brand inspectors and field staff.

• Schedule work and provide feedback to APSI with field staff’s annual performance appraisal.

• Provide support in conducting investigations and assist the Special Investigator when necessary.

Working Conditions

The duties of this position are performed indoors and outdoors. The Brand Inspector’s primary work area is located outdoors in livestock markets, feedlots, slaughter plants and ranches. The incumbent may occasionally work under difficult conditions and be exposed to extremes in temperature, high levels of noise, heavy machinery, and various odors. Report writing is usually performed indoors but may be required to be completed outdoors. The Brand Inspectors private home is his/her headquarters office. Special Requirements

• The position(s) require(s) a valid California Drivers License (CDL). You must answer the questions addressing your CDL on your application. Ensure you provide your CDL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions.

This position requires a valid Driver’s License, maintaining a good driving record, and a willingness to work long and irregular hours, including holidays, and in all weather conditions. This position requires the incumbent to pass a medical evaluation and receive clearance prior to beginning work.
