Location: Middletown, CT 06457
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM | Every Other Saturday
Pay Range: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
Dean's Professional Services is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Phlebotomist I to join a leading healthcare organization in Middletown, CT . This full-time opportunity is ideal for candidates who are passionate about patient care, highly organized, and experienced in phlebotomy services.
Position Summary:
The Phlebotomist I, also known as a Patient Services Representative I, is responsible for performing routine and specialized blood collection procedures in a professional and timely manner. As the first point of contact for patients, this role plays a critical part in creating a positive and compassionate patient experience while ensuring accurate specimen collection and processing.
This position requires strong phlebotomy skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide excellent service in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform venipuncture and capillary collections on a diverse patient population, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
* Accurately label, process, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
* Ensure all collections and documentation follow established protocols and safety standards.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
* Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and communicate clearly with patients, providers, and team members.
* Provide support to the team as needed, including flexible scheduling for weekends, holidays, and overtime.
Qualifications:
* Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
* Preferred Training: Medical assistant or paramedic training.
* Certification: Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, WA).
* Experience:
* Minimum of 6 months phlebotomy experience required.
* One or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
* Customer service experience in healthcare or retail settings preferred.
* Proficient in data entry and basic computer usage.
