As a Global Event Management Center (GEMC) Incident Management Analyst Summer Intern, you will gain valuable experience supporting Verizon Business Continuity to prepare, respond, and recover from various significant events. You will assist with key support functions in response to All-Hazards incidents and GEMC activations, such as major storms, earthquakes, civil unrest, or any incident that may pose high risk to Verizon. Your daily role will involve assisting with monitoring, analyzing, and disseminating situational information and intelligence regarding actual impacts or potential threats to Verizon operations and assets.
Key Responsibilities Will Include - Assisting in maintaining documented procedures and new plan development.
- Learning and utilizing tools, systems, and software within the ISAC (Information Sharing and Analysis Center) and GEMC.
- Leveraging AI to improve internal processes and efficiencies.
- Supporting the creation and review of ISAC reports.
- Assisting with the creation and review of Crisis Management Team Awareness Reports for event monitoring and situational awareness.
- Supporting slide deck creation/updates for GEMC.
- Assisting with the coordination of GEMC activations, including scheduling, preparing status reports, and conference call note-taking.
You must be currently enrolled in a degree program and be in good academic standing to be considered.
In this hybrid internship, you’ll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager. This hybrid internship will be based out of Cary, NC. If relocation is required, relocation assistance may be available.

You’ll Need To Have - Ability to participate in our hybrid 10-week internship that takes place from June 2026 to August 2026 working a full-time schedule.
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree majoring in Artificial Intelligence, Geographic Information Systems, Incident Management, Meteorology or related majors with a graduation date between December 2027 and June 2029.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.
- Willing and able to travel.
- Willing and able to relocate.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- Engineering major.
- Proficiency in AI prompt skills and concepts.
- Interest in or courses completed in data analytics, meteorology, emergency management, artificial intelligence or related fields.
- Any previous experience or coursework related to data analysis or Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping/tools including any experience with ESRI.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.
- Experience with Google G-Suite.

Where you’ll be working
In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.
