Industrial Fabrication Services (IFS), located in Lake Crystal, Minnesota, is a leading custom metal fabrication facility specializing in components for bulk material-handling industries. Our 75,000 square-foot facility employs approximately 115 team members and ships products across the continental United States, Canada, Mexico, and worldwide. From our location in the Lake Crystal Industrial Park—just 12 miles southwest of Mankato, off Highway 60—IFS partners with general contractors, custom equipment manufacturers, mining companies, agricultural processors, and power generation facilities.

Position Summary
IFS is seeking motivated Fabricators to join our growing team. While prior experience in metal fabrication is preferred, we also welcome entry-level candidates who are eager to learn and grow in a hands-on manufacturing career. Specific training will be provided on all machines and processes.

As a Fabricator, you will set up and operate equipment to cut, bend, roll, and assemble metal components. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and safety. Familiarity with different types of metals and their properties is a plus.

Essential Functions

1. Set up and operate metal fabricating machines such as press brakes and roll formers
2. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layout and procedures
3. Position, align, and secure components using tape measures, rules, clamps, and other tools
4. Inspect and measure workpieces using calipers, gauges, templates, and other precision tools
5. Complete jobs efficiently and accurately according to production schedules
6. Maintain equipment and work area in safe, clean, and operable condition
7. Follow all safety protocols and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
8. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

• Previous metal fabrication experience preferred; training provided for entry-level candidates
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints
• Experience using fabrication tools and equipment (manual or electrical) such as saws, squares, and calipers
• Strong attention to detail, dexterity, and mechanical aptitude
• Knowledge of safety standards and commitment to PPE compliance
• Effective communication skills in English
• Professional certification or training a plus
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening

Physical Demands

This position requires the ability to:

• Regularly stand, walk, talk, and hear
• Occasionally sit, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds

 Work Environment

Welders work in a fabrication shop environment where noise, heat, and exposure to metal dust or fumes are common. Proper PPE is required at all times. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
