Now Hiring: Full-Time Doorman (Brooklyn, NY)

Downtown Brooklyn

We are seeking a reliable, courteous, and professional individual to join our residential building team as a Full-Time Doorman .
No previous experience is required — training will be provided .

This is a non-union position offering consistent hours, paid training, and a supportive work environment.

Position Details

  • Full-Time – 5 days per week
  • 3 Overnight Shifts: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • 2 Afternoon Shifts: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
  • Fixed weekly schedule (not rotating)
  • Competitive hourly pay based on reliability and performance
  • Weekly pay
  • Uniform reimbursement after hire

Responsibilities

  • Greet residents and visitors with professionalism and courtesy
  • Monitor all entry and exit activity to maintain building security
  • Receive, log, and organize packages and deliveries
  • Assist residents with luggage, deliveries, and daily needs
  • Keep the lobby and entrance area clean and organized
  • Report maintenance or security issues promptly to management
  • Follow all building policies and safety procedures (training provided)

Chain of Command

The Doorman reports directly to the Superintendent , who oversees daily operations and building staff.
The Superintendent reports to the Property Manager and Assistant Property Manager , ensuring proper communication and coordination at all times.
All employees are expected to follow this chain of command for reporting incidents, receiving instructions, and submitting requests.

Requirements

  • No prior experience required — full training provided
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and courteous
  • Clean, well-groomed appearance (uniform required)
  • Able to work both overnight and afternoon shifts each week
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Light physical activity only — no heavy lifting or long standing required
