Job Description
This is a newly created position for a rapidly expanding Mortgage Company based in Austin, TX. This position will serve as the right-hand person to the CEO and Owner who has significant responsibilities to ensure smooth overall Operations of the firm. Primary responsibilities will include oversight of Underwriting, Processing, Closing/Funding, Compliance, IT, and general business operations. In doing so, the COO must embody, promote and instill our vision of "Equipping and Enabling people to live their life's passions".
** Position is based in Austin. Must be in Austin or able to relocate to Austin within 60-90 Days **
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the development and implementation of leading Operational strategies with Underwriting, Processing, Closing/funding; while maintaining exceptional communication with internal & external customers/borrowers
• Ownership of the firm's adherence to all state and federal regulations and compliance requirements
• Guide, Train, Mentor, Lead- Provide ongoing coaching, training, and mentoring to all employees to develop and encourage their performance. Establish departmental and individual goals and targets that are consistent with the operating plan
• Must have the ability to work with sales and operations successfully
• Manage the firm's mortgage pipeline to ensure operational metrics are met or exceeded
• Responsible for Credit Risk Management and must have the ability to evaluate overall risk management with the business needs and opportunities
• Set the example for the family culture that promotes an environment of "servant leadership" while fostering our vision of "Equipping and Enabling people to live their life's passions"
• Communicate effectively & rapidly solve problems in a collaborative way
• Create and maintain a team environment among Loan Officers and Operations to complete transactions timely and accurately
Qualifications:
• 15+ years in the Mortgage Industry with at least 8-10+ years of Operational Management experience
• 10+ years of experience in the Correspondent Mortgage Channel with accountability in Underwriting, Processing, Compliance, Closing/Funding • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills to effectively communicate at all levels
• Experience in developing and executing strategies to build and sustain a purchase mortgage business
• Deep working knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements
• Strong financial acumen, critical thinking skills, project management and negotiation skills
