The Certified OR Tech is responsible for scrubbing for orthopedic/total joint and spine surgeries, as well as general, bariatric, GYN, urology, C-sections, ENT, and plastics cases. The role involves working 12-hour night shifts, including weekends and holidays, and participating in a call rotation. The tech must possess accurate skills matching a level 3 or above on the skills checklist for Trauma, Ortho, General, and Urology cases.

Responsibilities:
- Scrubbing for a variety of surgical cases including ortho/totals, spine, general, bariatrics, GYN, urology, C-sections, ENT, and plastics.
- Maintaining and cleaning equipment.
- Assisting the surgical team during procedures.
- Participating in unit orientation.
- Answering unit phone and directing calls accordingly.
- Performing data entry into electronic medical database systems.
- Documenting patient care and related duties appropriately.
- Performing selected patient registration activities.
- Coordinating equipment/supply needs. Notifying appropriate department of equipment malfunction.
- Performing any other related duties (e.g., clerical, technical duties) as assigned.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience scrubbing for surgical cases.
- Scrubbing experience in ortho/totals and spine surgeries.
- Experience in general, bariatrics, GYN, urology, C-sections, ENT, and plastics cases.
- Accurate skills matching a level 3 or above on the skills checklist for Trauma, Ortho, General, and Urology cases.
- BCLS certification.
- NBSTSA or NCCT certification.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Traveler experience is a plus.
Special Considerations:
- RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite.
- Call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could result in cancellation.
- Holidays are required.
- Must be available for an interview within 72 hours of submission.
Scheduling:
- 12-hour night shifts: Sat/Sun/Mon and every other Friday, 18:30p-7a.
- Call is required, averaging 1 night per week and 1 weekend in a 6-week schedule.
- Required weekend shifts: 1 per 6-week schedule.
- Schedule is per unit needs.
- Unit orientation is from 06:30 - 15:00 during the first week, then moves to the assigned shift.
