The Franklin Butchery is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Apprentice Butchers/Butcher Assistants. In this role, you will support the head butcher with a range of tasks including meat preparation, cutting, packaging, and providing excellent service at the counter. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the head butcher with the preparation and cutting of meats to specification.
- Package meat products for sale and ensure proper labeling and presentation.
- Provide courteous and knowledgeable counter service to customers.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary butchery area, including equipment, work surfaces, and storage areas.
- Follow all food safety regulations and store policies.
- Support inventory management and restocking as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Basic butchery skills are an asset, but not required—willingness to learn is essential.
- Customer service experience preferred; must be friendly and approachable.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Ability to follow instructions, work efficiently, and contribute to a team environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and handle the demands of a butchery environment.
Work Schedule
- Full-Time Position: 40 hours per week. Specific schedule to be determined, may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
